In this playful one-off workshop, explore how to layer two contrasting clays into bold, eye-catching patterns and create your own unique pieces to take home.

This workshop is adapted to suit a range of experience, from complete beginners to experienced potters looking to explore a new approach.
This workshop is taught by me, Kayleigh Heydon. I have been an artist for 13 years and I have been teaching and sharing my process for 5 years. I have a Masters in Art Therapy and this informs my approach to teaching.

This workshop takes place every 6 weeks at Shell Space in Brunswick.
The workshop is catered with light snacks, tea and wine.
The evening is set out to have a relaxed and gentle pace so you can relax and enjoy the process.

In this workshop, we explore carving and slicing as a way of coming to form.
Attention is placed on what can be taken away to reveal shape and surface. Through observation, editing, and moments of risk, the vessel emerges through subtraction.
Traces of confidence and hesitation remain in grooves, ridges, and incisions, forming a striking, cliff-like terrain.

Each person will make 2 pieces, a carved cup and a candle holder.
The pieces will be finished and fired in Brunswick and will be available for collection from Shell Space 4-6 weeks after the workshop. You will be notified via email.
This workshop is suitable for total beginners, aged 15+, people under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Dexterity and fine motor skills are needed as we will be using sharp tools.

In this workshop, colour is the thing. We will be exploring and playing with coloured porcelain. designing and pressing the clay into the surface. After you have created your own design you will learn how to turn it into a hand-built mug.

In this workshop you and your little one will work together, creating a colourful portrait plate using a beginner-friendly technique called ‘inlay'‘ where you place soft coloured clay into a design then roll it into the surface. This simple yet satisfying process allows you to create bold, personal designs that capture personality and play.

In this playful workshop, children will bring their own mythical friend or wonder being to life, shaping a small protector from clay. Guided by imagination, they’ll sculpt and paint a unique creature to keep and watch over them.
